Coronado Cays

Coronado is known nationwide for its luxurious beaches, great weather, and the historic Hotel Del Coronado.  Coronado was named the #1 beach in the United States in 2012 by Dr Beach! The best kept secret of the San Diego bay area is the Coronado Cays, where luxury and sophistication meet comfort and relaxation. The Coronado Cays is an exclusive waterfront community for avid boaters. The Coronado Cays is located four miles south of the iconic Hotel Del Coronado, located in the Coronado Village and only 10 miles southwest of downtown San Diego.  The Coronado Cays is a collection of upscale homes located on the bay side of Coronado's Silver Strand.  Most of these homes and condominiums are located on channels and have their own private boat slip which is deeded to the house.  The Coronado Cays Yacht Club is an equity membership club conveniently located off of Grand Caribe Way in the center of the Cays.  Along with the Yacht Clubs scheduled races and assorted club events the Coronado Cays Yacht Club is known for their beautiful marina, pool and clubhouse. If anyone is interested in joining the yacht club they are always welcomed with open arms in the clubhouse to speak with the members. The members are as friendly as the staff who uphold one of the best customer service experiences in Coronado.

If traveling by land or sea, the homes that surround this marina community are some of the finest that tourists see on their way to the Loews Coronado Bay Resort.  The Coronado Cays Home Owners Association makes sure that the homes are maintained to a standard that depicts pride of ownership in the community.  With 10 village’s comprising the Coronado Cays it is no surprise that each and every piece of property has its own character, privacy, and essence about it. The peaceful feeling that Coronado Cays brings is one of its most alluring attributes.  Since the Coronado Cays is a beach community there is always a high demand for homes along the water front that have docks. There is an obvious appeal to home buyers due to the picturesque scenery and mellow flow of the neighborhood. Being separated by the bay and the narrow stretch of beach known as the strand, the Cays are able to maintain an atmosphere of a city with character to spare, and history that is waiting to be explored. A great benefit to Coronado's gorgeous weather is the outdoors aspect of living. Coronado has over 15 miles of dedicated bike, blading and running paths.  If you are not up for a bike ride that’s okay because  Coronado is one of the most beautiful places to just take a stroll with neighborhoods lined with beautiful trees and rose gardens.  The community atmosphere of Coronado is extremely appealing to families with young children and grandparents who would like to have family visits. This is depicted by Spreckles Park which covers eight acres and features a playground and gazebo, picnic tables and restrooms.  The city itself also organizes fun little functions throughout the year. For example, during the summer there is the Coronado Summer Concert Series. The holidays bring the gorgeous lights, decorations on the trees and the Hotel del Coronado even constructs an ice skating rink. Something else that Coronado is known for is its main strip on Orange Avenue. There are unique boutiques, intimate coffee shops, a multitude of surf shops, and great cuisine to explore. There is always something to do in this area; all you have to do is look.

Since Coronado runs on “island time,” it’s normal to feel much mellower and more laid back than you would be anywhere else. It has become common knowledge that the serenity of the atmosphere calms and replenishes those who are normally stressed. There has always been a relaxing feeling about being on Coronado island that overcomes its residence and its newcomers alike. If anyone is looking to escape the city life on the other side of the bridge or the strand, then Coronado Cays is where they gather.
